This book won’t be published until August, but I couldn’t wait til then to write about it. The author Yannick Murphy is an immensely talented writer, her book is a literary jewel. Written in the rhythms of the everyday life of a young country veterinarian, we are drawn along with him to tend to his neighbors assorted ill animals, stand next to him as he observes the mysterious spaceship that hover over their house, delight in the funny and wise pronouncements of his young children, grin at the frustration of the wife who is forever picking up their wet towels left on the bed. I could not put this book down, read it in one day. Am so looking forward to recommending this when it finally arrives in August, as a paperback original.
