Father of the Rain by Lily King

This is an amazing work of fiction-I urge all who enjoy and appreciate excellent writing to read it, it is a masterwork!

It chronicles 30 years in the life of Daley, a woman who looks back on her growing up in a WASP’s nest, dominated by her alcoholic father, who she loves deeply. Her life takes a few turns she didn’t anticipate, but she can’t shake that attachment to her father, It is beautifully and thoughtfully written, not a single ‘off’ note the whole way through. It will make you think of your childhood and your father, and if you have gone through end of life events with a parent, it will strike very true…
